Shortly before the 2024 EU elections, thousands of people gathered in Vienna to take to the streets for climate protection and democracy. Under the slogan “How many disasters do we want to prevent?”, the Fridays for Future movement called for one of the biggest climate demonstrations of the year. Participants loudly demanded a future in which solidarity and sustainable action take precedence over the interests of fossil fuel industries.
